Planning a Comal River tubing day

Planear un día de tubing en el río Comal

Why the Comal is different

The Comal is a short, spring-fed river that starts at Comal Springs in Landa Park and runs through New Braunfels to the Guadalupe. Because it is fed by springs, the water stays cool all year, which makes it a classic summer float.

Where people float

Popular options include outfitters along the river in town and the city-run Tube Chute at Prince Solms Park. Outfitters handle tube rental and shuttles. Check each outfitter's current hours and prices directly before you go.

Know the local rules

New Braunfels has river rules on items such as disposable containers, coolers and alcohol on certain sections. Rules change, so read the current City of New Braunfels river regulations before you pack.

Safety first

Wear water shoes, bring sun protection, keep kids in life jackets, and check the live river flow and NWS alerts on our Media Hub before heading out. If flow is unusually high or an alert is active, wait it out.
