GUIDE
Reading river flow and weather alerts
Cómo leer el caudal del río y las alertas
What cfs means
River flow is measured in cubic feet per second (cfs) by the U.S. Geological Survey. Higher numbers mean more water moving faster.
Where our numbers come from
The Media Hub shows the latest provisional reading from USGS gauges 08169000 (Comal River at New Braunfels) and 08168500 (Guadalupe River above the Comal). Provisional data can be revised.
Weather alerts
Alerts come straight from the National Weather Service for Comal County. Flash flooding can happen fast in the Hill Country. Turn around, don't drown.
